FLAG
The flag of the United Arab Emirates contains the Pan-Arab colors red, green, white and black. It was designed in 1971 by Abdullah Mohammed Al Maainah, who was 19 years old at the time, and was adopted on December 2, 1971. The main theme of the four colors of the flag is the unity of the Arab nations. In 2008, there was a minor change to the emblem.

SHIELD
The coat of arms of the United Arab Emirates in its current form was officially adopted on March 22, 2008, replacing the previous one, which dates from 1973. It is similar to other coats of arms of the Arab states and consists of a gold falcon , but, from the so-called Falcon of Quraysh that appears on the state emblem of Syria or Libya.
The Emirates falcon is depicted stylized, facing right, with alternating gold and silver feathers; this last enamel is also repeated on the tail, on the doors and on the claws, which hold a gules parchment with an inscription in Arabic Kufic letters where the official name of the State is read. On his chest he wears a circular shield with the colors of the national flag, with a silver border where seven five-pointed stars stand out in allusion to the seven emirates of the Federation.
