FLAG
The flag of Saudi Arabia was adopted, in its current form, on March 15, 1973, although it has been used since 1932. It is green and in the center there is an inscription in Arabic, with Thuluth writing, of the shahada or profession. of faith (one of the five pillars of Islam), which says:
لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله
lā ʾilāha ʾillā (A)llāh, Muhammadun rasūlu (A)llāh
“There is no god but Allah, [and] Muhammad is his prophet.”
Beneath this inscription is a horizontally arranged sword underlining the text, symbolizing Ibn Saud's victory. The green color of the flag is the traditional color of Islam and is believed to come from the color of the cloak worn by the Prophet Muhammad.

SHIELD
The national emblem of Saudi Arabia (Arabic: شعار السعودية) was adopted in 1950. According to the Basic Law of Saudi Arabia, it consists of two crossed swords with a palm tree in the space above and between the leaves.
The two swords represent the Kingdom of Hejaz and the Sultanate of Najd and its dependencies, which were united under Ibn Saud in 1926. The shield represents that prosperity can only be obtained through Justice. The palm is prosperity and the crossed swords represent justice. The palm tree represents the assets of the Kingdom which are defined as its people, heritage, history, and natural and non-natural resources. Thus, the palm is shown to be protected by the two swords, which represent the forces to be used in defense of the nation.
