FLAG
The Armenian Supreme Soviet adopted the current flag on August 24, 1990. The Law on the National Flag of Armenia was approved by the Armenian Parliament on June 15, 2006.
There have been various variants of the Armenian flag throughout history. In ancient times, the Armenian dynasties were represented by different symbolic animals displayed on their flags. In the 20th century, various Soviet flags represented the Armenian nation.

The national flag of Armenia, the Armenian Tricolor, consists of three horizontal stripes of equal width, red at the top, blue at the center, and yellow at the bottom.
The meaning of colors has been interpreted in numerous ways. However, many agree that the red represents the blood shed by the Armenian soldiers in the war, the blue for the Armenian sky and the orange represents the sunset.
The official meaning of the colors, as stated in the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, is:
"...The red symbolizes the Armenian mountains, the continuous struggle of the Armenian people for survival, the maintenance of the Christian faith, the independence and freedom of Armenia. The blue symbolizes the will of the people of Armenia to live under peaceful skies. Orange symbolizes the creative talent and hardworking nature of Armenia."

SHIELD
The coat of arms of Armenia was established in 1992 and is similar to the one used during the first independence, based on the project of the architect Alexandr Tamanian and the painter Hagop Gochoian.
In the center of the shield are illustrated, the Masis mountain with Noah's ark deposited on the top of Mount Ararat. In the quarters of the shield appear the shields of four historical dynasties: bagrátida (pakraduni), in the first quarter; artáxida (ardashesian), in the second; arshakuni (arshaguni), in the third quarter and, in the fourth that of the rubenian dynasty (rupenian).
They hold the shield on the left the eagle and on the right the lion. Beneath them, the feather represents the intellect, the spikes fruitful work and the broken chains freedom and independence.
